The wheel is one of man's most important inventions and serves a multiplicity of purposes. It greatly simplifies transport, but rotation of the wheel can also be used for very special purposes. Carl Munters, the legendary Swedish inventor, was the first to develop a wheel used for the transport of heat, the ECONOVENT wheel. He applied for a patent for the rotary heat exchanger in 1956.
